Besides the obvious fundamental flaws in mankind, the lack of true compassion for each other, and what seems to me an inborn suspicion of anything unknown or different as harmful, or even the fact that VH1 has entered its second season of “I Love New York” a show about a woman looking for love that was featured on a show that was about a man long past his prime looking for love that lasted two seasons on its own. There are more subtle ones. Ones that I think we can all address a little at a time.
While shopping with my father today he told me of a water company based in Hawaii that drills about a mile under the Earth for its bottled water. This water is then processed in fascinating new ways I’m sure I’d understand better if I researched them a little more. But their catch is that this water is concentrated, which accounts for the high price. And somehow this company remains in business. Surely, surely, they don’t expect people to dilute the water they paid for with water they didn’t. But I’m afraid this is exactly the case.
People are paying 35$ for a bottle of water which they are convinced must be added to free water in order to get the full flavorless taste of water. This is ridiculous.
After much thought, I came upon the only logical reasoning for purchasing water that needs to be added to water to be consumable. It is being purchased because it is expensive. And this is the thought that will forever run through my head from now on before I buy something. Am I buying it because I need it or want it, or am I buying it because its expensive? Because thats a good way to lose money.
